Liu Ling’s practice is a tribute to the wonders of life and an outright celebration of reality. Although her experimentation leads to different mediums, her works adopt the same universal visual language of realism. Through the process of intricately constructing details to capture what she observes laid out in front of her; she attempts to rediscover the essence of beauty in the often overlooked: Ordinary.
With her series of talks, demonstrations and workshops happening in conjunction with Of Ordinary Things, Liu Ling walks us through her practice, the how and the whys behind her desire to re-create what she sees and the purpose of shining a light on the ignored and forgotten.
