Approaching his works through storytelling, Faris Heizer’s use of caricatured figures often draws attention to the artificiality of his painting’s narratives. The figures seemingly exist in an abject reality ruled by its own logic and boundaries appropriated form various fictional novels and media such as old cartoon shows. In his solo showcase, Passengers, the interweaving of his sporadic painting process with meta-narratives, bring forward the flux of interplay between composition and pictorial space. Rendering his painting process a form of language, and his paintings the story.

Faris Heizer, born in 1998 is a painter based in Singapore. He attained a Diploma in Fine Arts at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (2018). In 2019, he exhibited at three group exhibitions in “Raw Forms”, “Diptych” and under the collective, The Right Belief in “Orthodox” at Coda Culture, Singapore. In the following year, he showed at “Coda Culture Opening Party Show” at Coda Culture, Singapore.
